Hi Everyone. To facilitate easier communication regarding certain things within the church, we have created 2 closed groups linked to the Church's facebook page. One is for the Children's education, and the other for Community Concerns. We hope that the Children's education group can be available for communication regarding sunday school and upcoming children's events, as well as sharing photos of the children within a private setting. And the Community Concerns group is for sharing prayers and concerns, as well as joyous events, and for concerns within the church itself. We hope to use the 2nd group to expand our prayer tree and share the good and bad with each other.
We can officially announce that we have a new minister!!! We would like to welcome Pastor Martin Holman and his family. We look forward to working together with him to bring some more life back into our church and our programs.
Wednesday's weekly prayer... Dear Father in heaven, as your children we come into your presence so that you may lead us with the light that streams out from you. We come to your light seeking an inner birth to make us what your children ought to be. Bless us as we thank you for all your goodness and for the powerful help you have given many among us. Accept the thanks we offer you, and grant that we never forget the good you are doing for us. Help us to go forward, always forward, until your kingdom is completed. May it not be in vain that we live in the Lord Jesus and in love to you, the God and Father of all. May it not be in vain that we bring you our requests and prayers for your kingdom to come soon. Yes, Lord Jesus, come! Come soon to this earth so that all people may acknowledge the true God and may love you. Amen.
Just a head's up that we currently do not have a secretary and are in the search process for one, so please bear with us in this transition. If you leave a voice mail or send an email, either Kristine or Joyce will respond to you when they have a chance, or they will send it to the appropriate individual to respond. We want to thank our previous secretary, Susan, for the wonderful job she has done and wish her luck with her new job.
Happy Wednesday Everyone. I hope this prayer will tide you over until you can be with us this Sunday. Also, this is Rev. Karen's last Sunday with us for a while, so make sure to come by and listen to her beautiful sermon. We want to thank her for all she has done for our church since last September. Dear Father in heaven, Creator of what is good, beautiful, and full of joy so that all may work in harmony with you, we thank you for all the good that comes to us. May we be your children, joined together to serve you. May our life bring joy to others, and may we do good without ceasing through your great, strong love, which moves us, strengthens us, and helps us every day, however hard life may be. May your name be praised throughout the world. May your kingdom come and your will be done on earth as in heaven. Amen.
As I listen to the Rutland Fireworks going off not too far from our house, and I prepare to head out to 2 separate shows over the next two days myself, I want to share a prayer with you all this week and wish you all a Happy and safe 4th of July Dear God, Thank you for your great power. We praise you for your Truth. We’re grateful that you have set us free from the clutching grasp of sin and death.Would you be with your people, extending your grace, granting your freedom, providing your protection, and empowering with your strength. We pray that many would come to know you as Lord and Savior, we pray that many would see your Light, that you would open blind eyes and release those still imprisoned. We pray that you would unify your people for the glory of your Name that all who call themselves Christians would rise up, believing your great Truth.Wake us up Lord! Remind us to live aware, to redeem the time, to listen to your words, to be willing to make a difference in this land.We pray for all those in authority, that you would give them your wisdom and discernment as they lead. We ask that you would appoint strong, faithful men and women to serve this nation and our people. We pray for your great healing on our land. Shine your face on us dear God. We need you now, more than ever before. Our times are in your hands.Thank you that you are rich in mercy and full of grace. Thank you that you are forgiving and merciful. Thank you that you are strong and mighty. Thank you that you are for us and that you fight for us still today. Bring honor to your Name, Oh Lord, for You alone are worthy. In the Powerful Name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
As we move forward and do our best to discern what GOD is wanting us to do, I leave you with this prayer. Dear Lord, help me remember what a difference it makes when I make time with You a priority in my morning. Awaken me in body and spirit each day with a desire to meet with You and to hear You speak words of affirmation, assurance and wisdom over my heart as I prepare to go into my day. In Jesus' Name, Amen
Wishing all the wonderful men in our church and around the world a wonderful father's day, and we thank our father in heaven for giving us life.
Sunday was our church picnic and we painted kindness rocks. We share these rocks to share kindness and hope with strangers, just as I share this post to remind us all to love one another unconditionally.
Tomorrow is Pentecost. Don't forget to wear red and join us after services for the church picnic.
There is a lot going on right now, and I want to thank everyone that was able to attend our meeting on Sunday. I leave you with this Bible Verse to help you through your thoughts. Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."
How is everyone doing this evening? I know it is a bit late, but I realized that we haven't had our weekly prayer in a while, so before I head to bed, I wanted to leave you with a quick prayer. Father in heaven, may we recognize and acknowledge that you are God. You have made us, and not we ourselves, to be your people and the sheep of your pasture. Baptize us with the truth we need throughout our lives. Give us the gift to discern who we are and what we should become. Free our eyes from all deception so that we can no longer delude ourselves with short-lived, earthly things. Clear our eyes to see what is eternal in and around us. Make us children, true children, who awake to exult and rejoice in what is childlike and who give thanks to you, O God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
These weeks are just flying by. We want to give a big thank you to everyone that has helped with the food pantry collections, if you have brought food or were a collector, we thank you for your help.🥫 And there is still time to get your reservations in for the mission dinner this Saturday, May 11th. Join us for a delicious chicken dinner to support UCC Disaster Ministries.🍗🥔🥕 Last but not least, the Missions team is still collecting books for kids from 0-12 for the rest of the month of May.📖 Help make a difference in a child's life.
The last several months have been amazing with the generosity of our community with our food, coat and sock drives. This Saturday is our last food drive for a while. Our missions team will be out there from 10-12 this Saturday collecting food, as well as new and gently used books for children 0-12. Thank you in advance for your support with these drives, and a big thank you to our members who have stood out there in the cold and rain. I hope Saturday is a nice day for you guys.
Thank you everyone for joining us for our Easter service yesterday. Our hearts go out to those churches and patrons that were attacked yesterday during their services.
He has risen!!!! Happy Easter. Join us for our 9:30 service. We would love to have you.
Kristine has her cooking class at 3pm today. Still room to join in and learn how to make a delicous dessert, just in time for Easter. Then join us tomorrow for a very interactive & musical palm sunday service, followed by a pancake breakfast. Please bring some pastries to accompany the breakfast.
Saturday is a busy day for us. Besides the Swedish Supper in the evening (if you haven't reserved your seat, call in now), we also have the missions team collecting food, white socks, and new or gently used books for infants through grade 8. The missions team will be in the parking lot from 9am - 11am collecting donations. The food will be donated to the Wachusett Food Pantry in Sterling. The white socks will go to Mustard Seed to help the homeless, and the books will be collected to distribute to local children who otherwise would not have any books. We appreciate any and all donations and thank you in advance for helping us with our collections.
Happy Friday!!! Grow with us this Lent, spiritually as an individual and as a congregation.
